so, my laptop charger broke and for about 2 weeks my laptop was incapacitated. so, this post is going to be rather large and random.

first off, last weekend in miami was a blast, props to Bronques for taking good care of me, free sushi and all. and thanks to the girl that poured vodka on my knee when i scraped it up.

them jeans is playing saturday/thursday in orlando thursday night and i'm fucking estatic. he's probably my favorite dj at the moment, because he remixes hip hop [while you hipster mother fuckers are remixing we are your friends], and his mixtapes have a nice variety, which i like. when i listen to his shit (which is good for driving to and from miami), i feel like we have the same taste in music.

it's official. the much anticipated "†" LP has leaked (actually the tracks have gradually been leaking for months now). there's a sort of commrodory amongst the more popular blogs to not leak it. good luck finding it, most of the links are broken or expired or removed. but some of us have it (i certainly do and it's so amazing i could cry). i will not be posting it either because they are very nice boys and they helped me have a very happy birthday this year (even though i got everyone lost on the way to ps14) and they deserve your money.

however, i will post a track on the album that i heard a few months back on a mixtape by the charming (and handsome) DJ Mehdi.

so, The Teenagers are probably the only band that love Scarlett Johanssen as much as i do. and if they're not they're certianly the best. at the moment, i can't stop listening to their Miam Les Fruits mix in my car, even though i've had it for quite a while. if you don't know who this band is, you probably don't go to hip night clubs or read blogs. because it seems like they're e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e lately. which is good, because they deseve the attention (see the last issue of BPM with Uffie on the cover), but also bad, because they might turn into assholes. either way remixes have been surfacing left and right, so here's my favorites:

Simian releases a couple EPs and an LP in the UK, then releases the LP We Are Your Friends in 2002, which i used to listen to a lot in high school when i smoked pot. anyways, the track Never Be Alone gets remixed by Jus†ice and becomes We Are Your Friends (perhaps you've heard it?) and blows up like crazy. Simian disbands, and James Ellis Ford and James Anthony Shaw form Simian Mobile Disco on hotshit french powerhouse Kitsuné. got that? good.

So, Moving Units has recently signed with Dim Mak records to release their follow up to 2005's Dangerous Dreams. About a year ago they posted three demos on their myspace: Dark Walls, Paper Hearts, and Pick Up the Phone (which i LOVED and was originally called "Definition of Desperation").
for some reason they pulled these demos, and for the past year i haven't been able to find any of these online, but the lyrics are uploaded on several websites. I had a friend record Paper Hearts off their myspace at the time, but the track has now been released on the Dim Mak sampler Premium Bananas , which i found the tracklist to with a little googling.
i haven't seen Paper Hearts posted anywhere yet, but i've had this track for a while. enjoy!
